Lunch, followed with Business Meeting: Noon to 1:00 pm SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Susan M. Lang US Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division Wichita, KS Program and Q & A: Susan Lang, a native of Wichita, KS has been an investigator with the Wichita, KS office of US Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division for 25 years. The Wage and Hour Division enforces the Fair Labor Standards Act, which includes provisions for payment of the federal minimum wage, overtime, and child labor protections. The Division also enforces the Family and Medical Leave Act. Ms. Lang’s presentation will cover issues such as proper timekeeping, salary exemptions from overtime, on call pay and bonuses, common overtime violations, and the basic Wage and Hour investigation process. With respect to the Family and Medical Leave Act, she will explain which employers are covered, when employees are eligible, and some of the typical problems encountered by the Wage and Hour Division. Handouts will be provided, and links to Wage and Hour Fact Sheets and publications will be distributed.
